Tip of the week 💡

Expand To New Markets!

Expanding to new markets opens up a world of opportunities for your business. It’s an adventure that, with the right plan, can lead to incredible growth. Ready to explore? Here are five steps to guide you on this exciting journey!

Step 1: Explore New Territory
Start by identifying markets that fit your products or services. Conduct thorough research to understand the needs, preferences, and competitive landscape of these markets. This will help you identify opportunities and potential challenges.

Step 2: Adapt to Local Preferences
Every market has its own unique culture and regulations. Take the time to understand these local nuances and requirements so you can connect authentically with your new audience. It's about making your business feel right at home in their world.

Step 3: Create Your Market Entry Plan
Now it's time to create a plan of attack! Will you launch a catchy local campaign, tweak your products to better suit the market, or team up with local businesses, or maybe even someone right here in our AOAM community? Whatever you choose, make sure it’s a strategy that speaks directly to your new audience.

Step 4: Start with a Pilot Launch
Before going all in, consider starting with a pilot launch or a limited product offering. This lets you see how the market responds and make any necessary tweaks. Think of it as a trial run to ensure you're on the right path.

Step 5: Refine and Grow
Use the feedback from your pilot launch to fine-tune your approach. Stay flexible and ready to adapt to the market’s unique dynamics. With this mindset, you'll be set to make a lasting impression and grow in your new market.

10x Is Easier Than 2x: How World-Class Entrepreneurs Achieve More by Doing Less

It’s the start of the last quarter of the year, the time when most entrepreneurs start looking at their goals and plans for the upcoming year, making it a great time to share a book I thoroughly enjoyed.

10x Is Easier Than 2x was one of those books that, as you read it, you think to yourself, “Why didn’t I think of that?!” It challenges the reader to rethink the way we look at goal setting, suggesting that focusing on the big transformative moves can be the key to unlocking massive growth. Now, don’t get me wrong—I’m still a fan of SMART goals and realistic goal setting. This book doesn’t promise that you’ll make a million dollars overnight, but it is a great reminder that scaling up doesn’t have to mean adding more to your plate. Instead, it’s about strategic focus and clarity on your highest-value actions to help you achieve more while doing less.

So, as you start thinking about the goals you want to set for 2025, consider adding 10x Is Easier Than 2x to your business reading list.

You Need a Book!

Whenever a colleague announces they’ve just written a book, I applaud and say congrats. But in my head, I’ve always thought, “Better them than me!” It always felt like such a daunting task, and even though I am NEVER short on words, it stirred up all these feelings. Hidden beliefs about my writing skills and rambling would stop me dead in my tracks. But then I met Jennifer Cross... Jennifer helps authors find the book inside them, even me!

You Need a Book

So, even if you have zero interest in writing a book now, humor me, because you too might just have a book in there! She has an awesome free resource called You Need a Book that’s all about the hidden sales opportunities that come from authoring a book, while also working through some of those big, scary objections that I know I’m not alone in feeling. If you’ve ever been curious about whether you could be a published author, download Jennifer's Book here.

Keeping it Real 💜

Yesterday, the Fed made their long-awaited announcement that they were lowering interest rates. And while much of the US breathed a sigh of relief, I had a little internal chuckle as I read articles about their goal of staving off a recession. Why the chuckle? Well, when I talk to fellow entrepreneurs, many echo my thoughts: this has been one of the toughest years in business for us...and how the heck is this NOT a recession.

Through a global pandemic and many other milestones over the last ten years, my business has steadily grown. This year has been an exception. And while I’ve been steadfast in scaling back and launching the new and improved version of Automation on a Mission, it doesn’t take away the fact that many small businesses have really struggled this year—and I’m no exception to that rule.

I share this to keep it real: even after ten years, doing the thing, it’s still hard sometimes. It’s still scary, and sometimes I still question what the heck I’m doing. But I’m grateful for the community we’ve created, the amazing team I’ve built at Automation on a Mission, and the friends and family I’ve returned home to here in Colorado. These things have given me the depth and rejuvenation I need to keep going. I’m hopeful that the work we’ve put into the new Automation on a Mission 2.0 will continue to change businesses and lives.
