Tip of the week 💡
Eliminate Unnecessary Risks in Your Business This Year
As you map out your goals for the new year, it’s the perfect time to evaluate where you might be taking on unnecessary risks in your business. Not all risks lead to rewards, and the key to sustainable growth is knowing which ones are worth taking.
Start by identifying areas where you might be winging it – like not having clear contracts (we also had to make this priority number uno as 2024 came to a close), relying on verbal agreements, or skipping regular financial reviews. These “small” risks can snowball into big headaches if left unchecked. Instead, tighten up your processes, prioritize legal and financial safeguards, and make sure your systems can handle the big growth you’re aiming for in 2025.
The goal isn’t to play it safe but to take risks intentionally – the kind that align with your vision and have a real chance of paying off. By eliminating the unnecessary ones, you’ll free up time, energy, and resources to focus on scaling your business with confidence and clarity.
Let’s make 2025 the year of smart decisions and bold moves!

The 5Am Club By Robin Sharma
First, you should know that I'm a morning person. For reals, when I wake up, I whisper to the dogs, "Seize the day!". I have to be quiet because I'm married to a not morning person.
So, when I started reading The 5AM Club by Robin Sharma, I knew we were speaking the same language! If you’re looking to make the most of your day (and your life), this book is worth a look.
Now, I'm of the mindset that the early hours are golden time—it's when my ideas flow, my focus is sharp, and I feel most connected to my goals. The 5AM Club really builds on this same idea: leveraging your mornings to grow, reflect, and set the tone for the day.
While I haven’t finished it yet, I'm learning that it's packed with practical ways to create a morning routine that drives creativity, clarity, and purpose. So, while many many mornings I get up and go work out (after 30 minutes of mindless scrolling), I've started to incorporate morning readings into the day, before I exercise and while my body is still waking up. That one tweak really feels like I'm up-leveling the best time of day!
Curious? Try waking up 30 minutes earlier for a week and spend that time doing something that energizes you. Small shifts can lead to big changes.
If you’ve read The 5AM Club, let me know what you think! If not, maybe it’s time to give it a try.
Here’s to mornings that matter!

Keeping it Real 💜
Woah! It's 2025, y'all! Happy New Year! I hope the holidays were restful and full of time spent doing the things you love! While we have ambitions of being reliable and consistent with our communications, I'll be honest—December always seems to be a bit of a blur. It's a busy time for our clients, which makes it a busy time for us!
Every year, I reward myself with two weeks off at the end of the year. Many years ago, I found that most of my clients took time off during the holidays, so holding my calendar open proved unnecessary. Now, I’ve come to look forward to having days where I have no idea what day it is!
Annika and I had the opportunity to travel from Denver, Colorado, to South Carolina and up to Maryland with three dogs in tow. We waved a quick hello to Roanoke, VA, as we drove by and put more than 3,000 miles on my Subaru. Our time with family was short but glorious!
Yet the cherry on top of our trip was the grand opportunity we had to meet Amber and her partner Dom in Kansas City! For those of you who work with remote teams, the miles don't change the bonds you create with people you spend so much time with and build so much trust and admiration. I was so grateful that Amber and Dom made time for us and even showed us the best fried chicken in Kansas City!
As I rolled into the start of this new year, for the first time, I wasn't bombarded with meetings, fires, and deadlines. Having a team has truly changed the business and the work I/we do!
Here's to making 2025 the best year yet!!! Let's do this thing!!!
Stay awesome,
